Board approves central-service contract, appoints Kate Garner to economic development commission and clears June courthouse events

The Wright County Board approved a contract with a firm that prepares central-service cost-allocation plans and certified the county’s 2024 central-service cost allocation plan. County staff said the contract cost is $4,450 and noted potential reimbursements identified in the cost allocation work: approximately $91,244 of indirect costs for public health and $12,077 for DHS, figures presented as the amounts potentially recoverable through the process.
The board appointed Kate Garner to fill a vacancy on the Wright County Economic Development Commission (term through Dec. 31, 2026) upon recommendation from the Community Development Agency; the appointment was made by motion and approved unanimously.
The board approved two CDA applications for use of the courthouse grounds for events on June 13 (family event, 4–8 p.m.) and June 14 (kids-zone activities, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.). The board said other CDA-requested dates were tabled because the courthouse yard was not safe for use before repairs are completed; staff encouraged resubmission for later dates beginning in June.
