Audubon Delta cleared to use Harrison County logo on coastal stewardship signs

Melinda Reppiger, senior manager with the Audubon Delta Coastal Stewardship Program, told the board that Audubon has worked with Harrison County elementary schools since 2018 and that the program is funded by the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality. She asked permission for two uses of the county logo: on locally produced metal signs featuring student artwork and on a nationally standardized nesting-season sign being used across the Atlantic Coast as part of a National Fish and Wildlife Foundation grant.
Reppiger said the classroom work helps students understand coastal conservation and that the signs are intended to educate beachgoers, reduce disturbance to nesting birds and align local messaging with national campaigns. The board made a motion and approved the request without opposition.
