The Hospital Authority Board approved a package of vendor contracts and deferred two proposed service agreements during its meeting. Board members signed off on cybersecurity and network-monitoring renewals and approved a $330,000 purchase of refurbished imaging equipment to support an incoming orthopedic surgeon while deferring a new service agreement for recent Fuji imaging equipment and further competitive review of a waste-disposal contract.
Board members said the decisions were intended to balance continuity of clinical and security operations with closer review of longer-term service agreements. “We will look at it maybe 6 months to a year down the road if we decide then at that point we needed one,” Dr. Mark Brown said when the board discussed delaying a service contract for a new Fuji 3-D mammography unit.
