The Stoughton Area School District Board took the following recorded formal actions during its meeting.
1) Consent agenda: The board approved the consent agenda as presented. Motion to approve was moved by Mia Coyle and seconded by Tim Buban; no discussion was recorded and the chair pronounced the consent agenda approved.
2) Policy revisions (committee-to-work-group): Motion to approve the policy revisions as presented passed on a roll-call vote. The board discussed changing committee language to work groups and consolidating outreach tasks into an outreach work group. Roll-call in the transcript recorded all voting members present as voting yes; the motion passed.
3) Business Honor Roll: The board approved the recommended businesses for the honor roll. Moved by Masa Myers (work group member), seconded by Tim Buban; motion carried.
4) Insurance plan change (action item 5a): The board approved changes to the health-insurance plan to raise deductibles (single to $3,500; family to $7,000) and increase employer HRA contributions (single to $3,075; family to $6,150), effective July 1, 2025. The motion language was recorded in the meeting minutes; the motion carried on a roll-call vote with all present voting yes.
5) Motion to convene in closed (executive) session: The board moved and seconded to convene in executive session under Wisconsin statutes to discuss staff compensation, performance and contracts. A roll-call vote recorded board members as voting yes and the board convened in closed session.
Record notes: For some motions the transcript records specific movers and seconders (consent agenda: moved by Coyle, second by Buban; business honor roll: moved by Masa Myers, second by Bhuvan/Buban). For other motions the audio transcription contained variations in spelling of a mover’s name; the roll-call votes are recorded in the transcript. No resolutions were adopted regarding federal Title VI guidance during this meeting; the board only directed staff to monitor and report back.
