The Town of Lakeville Board of Selectmen voted on several routine items on April 10, approving a list of Department of Public Works items for surplus auction, granting a one-day wine-and-malt license for an outdoor event and appointing an assistant animal control officer.

The board approved a motion to declare a long list of items from the DPW and the transfer station surplus and authorized their sale through Auctions International, with proceeds to be deposited in the town’s general fund. Frank Lenorese, identified in the meeting as the DPW director, told the board the items were replaced, unsafe or beyond repair and that the town typically auctions such items every two to three years.

Selectmen also granted a one-day wine-and-malt license to Tipsy Mermaid LLC for May 31, 2025, at Conway Farm during the Antique Truck and Tractor Show; the application specifies service from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. A board member asked whether a rain date had been provided; none was indicated in the meeting.

The board voted to appoint Jennifer Nash as assistant animal control officer, with the appointment set to expire April 30, 2026. Town staff said the position fills an existing vacancy and that Nash will work Saturdays at the animal shelter, assisting with adoptions, cleaning and paperwork. The board discussed budget line-item clarity and agreed staff could separate the assistant ACO stipend into a distinct line for transparency. Meeting comments clarified Nash would be paid $125 per day for day shifts and $200 for 24-hour shifts, the same rates others at the shelter receive.
