The San Luis Obispo Planning Commission voted to elect David Houghton as chair and Eric Tolley as vice chair for one-year terms.
Under the planning commission bylaws, the panel holds annual elections for chair and vice chair. At the start of the meeting Chair Justin Cooley opened nominations; a commissioner nominated David Houghton for chair and a second was made. The commission then conducted a roll-call vote and the motion carried. Commissioners later nominated Eric Tolley to serve as vice chair; that motion likewise passed following roll-call.
The elections were procedural and required by the commission bylaws. Deputy City Clerk Megan Wilbanks administered the roll calls. No public comment was offered on the nominations during the meeting.
The newly elected officers will serve one-year terms and the commission resumed its agenda after brief seat rearrangements.
