He said the bid came in at $8,894,230, "and essentially it's $7,000,000 below our engineer's estimate."
Bessette said the agency has discussed the project and schedule with Nordic's president and is ready to move forward if the board approved the award. "If the board approves the contract today, I'll move forward and work with Nordic Industries, get bonds and insurance, get the contract signed, issue a notice to proceed, and we'll get rolling on this project," he said.
