The Albany Standing Committee for Public Safety on April 10 appointed Vice Mayor Peggy McQuaid as committee chair by a voice vote of the members present.
The motion to appoint Vice Mayor Peggy McQuaid as committee chair was made and then approved. Mayor Lopez and Vice Mayor Peggy McQuaid voted in favor; the motion carried.
The committee will serve in an advisory capacity to the full Albany City Council on matters including disaster preparedness, fire prevention and protection, emergency medical response and law enforcement. The committee chair will coordinate with city staff on agenda setting and communication with the council.
