Bay County special magistrate accepted code enforcement’s recommendation Thursday to require the owner of 12705 Clear Creek Road to clear junk and trash, to remove or enclose derelict vehicles, and to either apply for a demolition permit or submit engineering/repair plans for the unfit mobile home within 30 days.
Staff described hurricane damage, collapsed trusses, unstable floors, patched roofing and a collection of derelict vehicles, an inoperable watercraft and accessory sheds on the property. Inspector Scott Thorpe said the mobile home appeared a total loss and that the property owner had told investigators he intended to build a smaller accessory structure to live in while addressing the primary mobile home.
Code enforcement’s recommendation requires a full structural report and a complete set of repair drawings from a Florida-licensed design professional if the owner chooses repair rather than demolition. All required permits and inspections must be finalized for repairs to be considered complete. Magistrate Tiffany Sutter set a compliance hearing for May 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. and warned that a $1,000 fine would be imposed and recorded as a lien if the owner does not comply within 30 days.
Ending The property owner must file demolition or building permit applications within 30 days and remove junk/trash; the county will review compliance at a scheduled May 15 hearing.
