The subcommittee is tasked with reviewing the written drug-testing policy, assessing consequences and reinstatement requirements, and deciding whether to bring a proposed change back to the full council for a vote. Melissa said, "Now, any changes that are made to our drug testing policy has to come through you guys. So what we're gonna do is we're going to form a committee that reviews the policy and, makes a decision about whether or not we wanna bring something forward to you to vote on." She asked for volunteer community members and planned a brief signup and an initial meeting before the members left the day's meeting.
Council members listed preliminary subcommittee participants as Adrian, Sean, Ginger and Melissa and invited additional community members to sign up on a sheet Melissa placed at the table. Melissa said the subcommittee would meet on May 15 to produce its recommendation; any proposed policy change would return to the full SHAC for consideration.
