The applicant, Jim Dewey of JDJR Engineers, told the council the site is essentially surrounded by Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport property and argued that airport development and nearby commercial uses make the proposed office/showroom with storage appropriate. “We’re completely surrounded by the airport,” Dewey said, adding that nearby airport leases and large buildings make similar uses likely for the area and that the proposed building is substantially smaller than many nearby warehouse buildings.
