Prospect board updates city tree plan, schedules canopy plantings after heavy rains

At its April 10 meeting, the Prospect Forest Station Board reviewed the city's canopy tree program, discussed hazardous trees on public and adjacent private land, and agreed to update the 2025—26 city tree plan, with planting schedules delayed by recent heavy rain.

Board members heard updates from Andrea, a staff member, who said crews had flagged tree locations and called 811 to request utility markings. "If the markings are done and they look good, we'd like to tentatively schedule planting for Monday," Andrea said, adding that the schedule remains weather-dependent.
