The annex is intended to give RHS students access to UCC’s facilities, equipment and professional connections, and to create clearer pathways for students to continue study at UCC after graduation.
Board members voiced support for the partnership and for continuing development of the MOU; the board voted unanimously to approve the proposed agreement. The board motion, second and final tally were recorded during the regular meeting; no additional substantive amendments to the MOU were made on the floor.
Next steps outlined in the MOU include development of a project plan that will address funding, legal structure, program design and a timeline for construction and operation; specific funding sources and a binding construction contract were not specified in the MOU presented to the board. Superintendent Corden and UCC leadership will continue negotiations and bring recommended contracts and funding proposals back to the board for approval.
