Civil Service Commission approves new operator job classifications for parks and facilities

The Civil Service Commission approved new job classifications for "operator parks" and "operator facilities" and voted to approve minutes from its March 13 meeting during a brief session on April 10.
The commission approved the new classifications after a motion from Mr. Holderbohm, a member of the Civil Service Commission. Mr. Conte, a member, seconded the motion. The roll call was unanimous: Mr. Holderbohm, Mr. Conte and Ms. Beck all voted yes. Mr. Holderbohm said, "I also make a motion that we approve for new business the new job classifications for operator parks and operator facilities." The motion passed.
Commission members clarified that the new job classifications are additional roles. During discussion, Mr. Conte asked, "Which are replacing operator A and operator B, right?" and then recorded the clarification that "No. No, these are in addition. These are for parks." That distinction — that the classifications add roles rather than replace existing Operator A and Operator B positions — was recorded at the meeting.
The commission also approved the minutes from its March 13, 2025 meeting. Mr. Holderbohm moved to approve the minutes; Mr. Conte seconded. The roll call vote approving the minutes was unanimous.
At the meeting, members set the next regular session for May 8 at 3 p.m. and said the agenda goal for that meeting is to review the job description overview provided to the commission, update the roster of job descriptions and begin examining pay-rate information. One member noted, "The goal of the next meeting, Emma, is to review the job description overview that we get and we're going to begin making sure we have the most up to date list of the job descriptions and then, also start looking at our roster." The commission concluded with a motion to adjourn, seconded and recorded as adjourned at 3:02 p.m.
