Bradley County Schools report 27 students scored above 30 on ACT; TVA STEM grants awarded to several schools

Dr. Linda Cash, director of Bradley County Schools, told the school board at its April 2025 regular meeting that 27 students in the district scored above 30 on the ACT this year, a result she described as reflecting “the dedication our students [and] supports in their families.”
Cash said most students’ ACT scores moved or changed this year and praised the district’s ACT prep team. She also reported that several district schools received $5,000 each in Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) STEM grants, listing Hopewell, Lake Forest, Michigan Avenue, North Lake, Parkview, Taylor and Oak Grove as recipients so far.
The director noted other student opportunities and extracurricular developments: girls flag football teams have started at both district high schools, and a district math meet drew strong participation. Cash asked board members and the public to note upcoming district events on the calendar, including a Roadshow stop and a State of the Schools address at the PIE Innovation Center on April 30.
Cash closed her report by thanking school staff and district partners for the programs and support that, she said, expand students’ postsecondary and workforce opportunities.
The report focused on academic metrics, grants, and events; it did not include additional budget decisions or policy actions beyond informational updates.
