Board Chair called for approval of the proposal to complete and submit the consolidated grant application covering Title I, Title II, Title III, IDEA and Perkins funding. “Move to approve.” A second followed, and the motion carried after a voice vote in which members answered “aye.”
District staff warned the board the submission would proceed without firm dollar figures. “They typically send district allocations at that time. And they said that they don't have our allocation amount from whoever disperses the money from the federal government,” said Mister Hoffman, a district staff member. “So they don't know what that number is going to be.”
Hoffman told the board the Wyoming Department of Education meeting with Perkins representatives usually provides allocation figures. He said staff can prepare the application and enter personnel and training information but cannot finalize the budget until the state receives the federal distribution numbers. The application window opens April 15 and is due May 30, he said.
Board members did not raise further objections to moving ahead with the application despite the uncertainty. The discussion emphasized the practical need to meet the application deadline while remaining prepared to update budget figures when allocations arrive.
The board’s action authorizes district staff to complete and submit the consolidated grant application and to finalize budget details later if and when allocation amounts are provided.
