Alabama Senate presents resolution honoring Jefferson County superintendent Walter Gonsolin as national superintendent of the year

He described the recognition as an opportunity to highlight work across Alabama school districts and said, "It was an honor to go before the nation and to compete against 48 other states and 48 other superintendents so that we could show that the things that we're doing in the state of Alabama ... matter."
