The Mendocino County Coastal Permit Administrator on April 10 continued to a date uncertain Coastal Development application CDB 2024-004, a continued item from March 13, 2025, involving property owners Martin Bridal and Albert Schick at 2300 North Highway 1 in Albion. The project scope includes a single-family residence, a landscape berm, a water catchment area, an accessory dwelling unit, and after-the-fact permitting and mitigation for an unpermitted driveway.
Liam Crowley, project planner, said he has received comments from the California Coastal Commission that raised “several substantial concerns regarding the project,” and that addressing those concerns will require substantial revisions and submission of additional documents. Crowley recommended continuing the project to a date uncertain to allow time for revisions.
The applicant or agent was not present at the hearing. The Coastal Permit Administrator moved to continue the item to a date uncertain and noted that applicants should be advised about the noticing costs associated with a continuance; Crowley said he had not yet discussed re-noticing with the applicants. The administrator advised interested parties to check with Crowley for updates on when the item will return to hearing.
No formal vote tally was recorded on the transcript; the motion to continue was made by the Coastal Permit Administrator and entered as the action on the item.
