Johnston County tax office reports appeals volume, informal-review results and remaining levy collection

Johnston County’s tax office provided an update on delinquent collections and property-value appeals at the April 7 Board of Commissioners meeting.
Jocelyn Andrews, tax administrator, said the county is “getting into the nitty gritty toward the end of the year” and estimated that about “a little over a percent and a half of the annual levy” remained to be collected. Andrews said staff were working with taxpayers to collect those amounts before the fiscal year ends.
