The Minnesota House Rules and Legislative Administration Committee on April 10 approved minutes from its April 8 meeting and adopted the calendar for Monday, April 21, placing House File 1090 on the floor and establishing a pre-filing requirement for amendments, the committee chair said.
The action sets the House floor schedule for April 21 and invokes committee rules 1.21 and 3.33 to require pre-filing of amendments to bills on that day, a procedural move committee members said is intended to streamline floor consideration.
Committee business opened with a motion to approve the minutes from the committee’s April 8 meeting. "I will, move the minutes of April 8," Representative Scott said before the committee voted by voice to adopt the minutes.
Later the committee considered its calendar for April 21. Representative Lee moved adoption of the calendar and cited rule 1.21 and rule 3.33 as the authority for designating April 21 as the calendar day and for establishing the pre-filing requirement for any amendments to bills on that calendar. The committee voted by voice to adopt the calendar; the chair announced the calendar was adopted.
The committee noted that Monday, April 21 would be designated "Mary Murphy Day" on the House floor and that House File 1090 is the bill scheduled for that day. The meeting adjourned; members observed this was the committee’s last meeting before spring break.
