Board renews 5‑year contracts for Community Prep and Eastlake high schools

The Colorado Springs School District No. 11 Board of Education on April 9 approved five‑year contract renewals for two district‑authorized charter schools: Community Prep High School and Eastlake High School.
Director Carey moved to approve Resolution 2025-22 to renew Community Prep High School’s contract (C-2026-2); the board approved the renewal for the performance period July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2030, subject to earned extensions through the district’s annual performance report process and policy LBD. Raj Salani, identified in the meeting as present for Community Prep, was in the audience.
Director Hafeli moved to approve Resolution 2025-23 to renew Eastlake High School’s contract (C-2026-0001) for the same five‑year period and subject to the same conditions. Superintendent Angkal noted there was no new information beyond what the board considered when it approved Community Prep’s renewal application at a January 15 special meeting.
Both renewals passed on board vote; the board chair and district staff encouraged charter representatives to continue addressing enrollment and financial questions through the district’s contract-monitoring processes.
The contracts begin July 1, 2025, and run through June 30, 2030, with any earned extensions determined by the annual performance report process in accordance with policy LBD.
