The Mableton City Council approved resolutions authorizing the city manager and finance director to access the city’s Georgia Fund 1 (LGIP) accounts and designating the mayor, city manager, city clerk and finance director as signatories for bank transactions.
Finance Director Karen Ellis explained the measures are routine housekeeping intended to preserve transaction continuity when personnel change. “When you have a new finance director…it's good to have as many on the signatory so that there's overlap in case of open vacancies,” Ellis said. She added that the resolution does not change current active users but adds the finance director post as an authorized position.
Councilmembers moved and seconded the resolutions and approved them by voice vote. The motions were recorded as approving (a) authorization for manager and finance director to access Georgia Fund 1 LGIP accounts and (b) a resolution designating signatories for city bank accounts, with Ellis listed as finance director for the signatory resolution.
The city manager noted the additions were part of standard continuity planning and would help during staff transitions. No budgetary changes or other substantive operational changes were described at the meeting.
