The Town of Leesburg Library Board discussed a new patron survey the library plans to run to gather feedback on accessibility, hours and collections.
The director said the library has not run a patron survey since 2014 and that the new survey contains 15 questions. Paper copies will be available at the service desk starting tomorrow; the town's public-information office set up the survey in SurveyMonkey. The director said staff will monitor early response rates and may adjust outreach methods if online responses lag. The board discussed outreach options, including targeted emails, texts and asking designated spokespeople to request responses from their networks.
The director said a frequent correspondent had already suggested adding an interior railing on the upper walkway; the survey includes an open field for such accessibility suggestions and the director asked members to encourage patrons to participate. The director said a goal would be to obtain roughly 200 to 300 completed surveys if possible.
