Casa Grande Elementary board approves $427,560.91 dashboard contract with DecisionEd

The Casa Grande Elementary School District Governing Board voted to authorize the award of RFP No. 192-1524 to DecisionEd Group Incorporated, approving a five‑year agreement with total costs of $427,560.91 for a district data warehouse and dashboard platform.

District staff said the platform is intended to pull together data now held in multiple systems — student information, assessments, HR and finance — so staff can spend less time gathering data and more time analyzing it for classroom and district decisions. "We recognize that we have an increased need to be able to use data in a usable manner," Lisa Bradshaw told the board during the presentation.

Bradshaw, the district staff member leading the RFP project team, said the district received 19 proposals, invited the top three vendors for demonstrations and ultimately recommended DecisionEd. The contract includes implementation and integration services, training and professional development, annual licensing and ongoing support. The implementation window runs from mid‑March through June, with an initial Phase 1 dashboard rollout targeted for July 1; DecisionEd will host annual licensing and support thereafter.

Bradshaw told the board DecisionEd already partners with a number of Arizona districts, which she said helped inform the district's selection. She also said the vendor will assist with creating the connections to the district's data sources and that DecisionEd can import spreadsheets where needed. "DecisionEd is going to help us create those links," she said. She added the system will pull data nightly and can display district, school and individual‑student views.

Board members pressed on two practical points: who enters data and who will be trained. Bradshaw said the dashboard will pull data from existing systems and no direct data entry into DecisionEd will be required; data will be ingested nightly from the district's systems. For training, she said the district will use a train‑the‑trainer approach, preparing school site leaders (principals, assistant principals, deans, coaches and implementation specialists) who will, in turn, train classroom teachers and other staff.

Bradshaw also warned that the district must ensure source data are clean and consistent before visualization — for example, consistent naming for bus routes or categories — and that careful design with user audiences in mind is necessary to make dashboards useful.

The motion to award the RFP was made by board member Miss Sisson and seconded by board member Mr. Shute. Roll call votes were recorded as President Varela: Aye; Miss Sisson: Aye; Mr. Stavely: Aye; Mr. Shute: Aye. The motion passed.
