Samuels Realty Company, Inc., requested a one‑year extension of master plan approval for a proposed mixed‑use expansion of the Polo Center property (new application materials cover 656–716 Aquidneck Avenue), which would add 60 residential units and about 4,000 square feet of commercial space under Article 27A. The applicant reported ongoing review with an external agency regarding stormwater/water‑retention plans; the board granted an extension through May 11, 2026 to allow the applicant time to resolve comments and resubmit plans.
Both extensions were moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. The approvals are administrative extensions of prior board decisions and do not change the substantive approvals previously granted; staff noted the extensions allow applicants additional time to finalize plans and secure permits and financing.
