Parkinson's Resource Organization asks council to consider funding and referrals during Parkinson's Awareness Month

Lynch told the council the Parkinson's Resource Organization provides education, 1‑on‑1 consultations and caregiver support. She offered an estimate the Coachella Valley has roughly 8,000–10,000 people with Parkinson's and said the organization estimates about 1,050 people with Parkinson's live in Cathedral City. Lynch asked council members to familiarize themselves with the local resource and to consider the organization's needs when the city evaluates grant funding and community grant programs this year.
Council members responded by thanking Lynch and noting outreach and event opportunities that had already connected the organization to city programs. No formal action or funding was taken at the April 9 meeting.
