Trustee Hodges moved to approve the interlocal agreement and Trustee Newhouse seconded. The board chair called for a vote; the motion passed. During the vote tally the chair reported "We have 5 4 and 1 abstention. The motion carries." The agreement continues the district's participation and authorizes administration to implement the cohort program for a new three‑year term.
Administration said the partnership provides training and support while participants work on obtaining teacher certification; further implementation details and participant selection processes will be handled by HR and the Harris County Department of Education under the interlocal agreement.
