IT director outlines Tyler permitting rollout, new borough website and parcel viewer upgrades

Leah Jones, the borough’s information technology director, told the assembly April 9 that a set of largely back‑office modernizations will move to production in the coming months and that those changes are intended to improve citizen access and department efficiency.
Jones highlighted three near‑term launches: an enterprise permitting and licensing system (scheduled to go live in May), a migration of the tax and assessment system (planned for June) with a citizen payment portal, and a new borough website targeted for July that will prioritize ‘‘Citizens First’’ navigation and notifications. She said the parks and recreation software rollout already in production improves online reservations and facility functions.
Jones also noted a $15,000 grant for cyber enhancements and that her team is developing a winter and upcoming summer road‑maintenance operations dashboard and a problem reporter app that is shifting more public interaction online. The parcel viewer remains the most‑used application and Jones said new imagery and lidar updates are scheduled on a three‑year cycle funded jointly with the 9‑1‑1 advisory board and CIP.
