Public art board approves 'Catch' mosaic for Marina Walk

Bridal told the board the artist submitted two alternate designs — Catch and Conch — and that Marina tenants preferred Catch by a narrow margin.
“Catch represents the majority of what the fleet does — boats and dolphin watching,” Bridal said when describing tenant feedback. Board members also expressed structural concerns about the previous design and said Catch appeared to address those concerns.
Board member (speaker 4) moved to approve Catch for the Marina Walk; Bridal seconded. The motion carried on a voice vote.
The board did not record a roll-call tally in the transcript. Amber Bridal said allocation work must begin to keep the project on schedule; the board did not specify timing or budget details in the public minutes.
The installation will replace the earlier floaty-totem plan and proceed under the artist’s revised concept approved by Marina stakeholders and city staff.
