DuBois County commissioners voted Oct. 20 to award the county’s ambulance procurement contract to American Response Vehicles for $276,600, after receiving three bids.
Ryan Young, the county’s administrative services director, summarized the bids delivered to the county: one vendor had documentation issues that raised responsiveness concerns; two others, including American Response Vehicles, submitted complete proposals. Young recommended the low responsive bid from American Response Vehicles and commissioners approved the award after a motion and second.
Commissioners noted the county had previously purchased vehicles from the recommended vendors and that past performance informed their comfort with the award.
The motion to award the bid carried unanimously; staff will complete contract documents and proceed with procurement.
