Committee approves 2025-26 TISA accountability report; staff to submit to Department of Education by Nov. 1

Executive Director Tess Stovall presented the draft 2025-26 TISA (Tennessee Investment in Student Achievement) accountability report to the School Performance and Accountability Committee on Oct. 7 and asked the committee to approve it for submission to the Department of Education.
Stovall told commissioners the annual report revisits the TISA goals set beginning in the 2023 school year and tracks progress and how funds are being used; she said some goals were met and others showed progress but not full attainment. She noted that, because the commission serves as an LEA of a different type, many TISA implementation decisions are made at the school level. Once approved by the full commission, staff will submit the report to the Department of Education by the Nov. 1 statutory deadline.
The committee voted by roll call to approve the draft. Commissioner Christine Richards moved to approve, Commissioner Tom Griscom seconded; the roll call recorded three ayes and the motion carried.

After the vote, the committee moved to adjourn and closed the Oct. 7 meeting; Hayden completed the roll call showing the ayes, and the committee noted its next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 22, 2026.
