Supervisors approve rezoning for Moore property to A-2 agricultural general

The Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors voted on Oct. 14 to rezone a 51.21‑acre parcel owned by Gorben M. Moore and others (tax map 60‑8‑c) to the A‑2 agricultural general district.
Community development staff described the parcel as historically used for hay production since the mid-1970s and noted it is currently split between R‑1 (residential) and AT (agricultural transitional) zoning. The application requested a zoning change that would consolidate the parcel into A‑2. The planning commission held a public hearing and recommended approval.
Owner representative Gorb(en) Moore spoke briefly at the county public hearing to answer questions and said he had no additional comments. No members of the public spoke for or against the rezoning during the county hearing.
A motion to approve the rezoning passed unanimously (5–0). Staff will record the change in the land records and update the zoning map according to the county’s standard procedures.
