Arvada City Council approves infrastructure IGAs, annexation first reading and solid‑waste code changes in 7‑0 votes

The Arvada City Council voted unanimously on several items at its March 4, 2025 meeting, approving consent items and three resolutions and an ordinance by 7‑0 votes.

Council approved four consent items (R25‑020 through R25‑023) covering professional services for the water treatment plant replacement project, an amendment to Jacobs Engineering Group’s agreement, acceptance of ballistic armor donations for the Arvada Police Department, and donations to Majestic View Nature Center. Councilmember Davis moved the motion and the measure passed 7‑0.

- CB205‑3 (first reading): An ordinance annexing a portion of West 60th Avenue right of way (approximately 15812 W. 60th Ave.) into the City of Arvada was approved on first reading and a public hearing was set for March 18, 2025; the council voted 7‑0 to approve first reading and set the hearing.

- CB25‑005 (final reading, Ordinance No. 4891): An ordinance amending several sections of Chapter 90 (Solid Waste) of the Arvada City Code passed on final reading 7‑0. The ordinance clarifies fee types, gives council discretion in allocation of a minimum service (opt‑out) fee and clarifies that licensed haulers may not offer solid‑waste‑only service within city limits. Councilmember Ambrose moved the final reading motion; the ordinance passed 7‑0.

All recorded votes in the meeting were unanimous (7‑0). Minutes of the meeting show the city manager and staff recommended approval on the infrastructure items and staff members remained available for follow‑up and implementation tasks after the votes.
