Committee votes to report bill adding faculty regent after second hearing

Sponsor Senator Scott Kosocki was not present; staff member Joe Hayes told the committee the senator "thinks this is a good bill" and asked the panel to advance it. After a brief review and the absence of amendment submissions, President Stevens moved to report SB 118 from the committee with individual recommendations and an attached zero fiscal note. "Seeing there's no objection, Senate Bill 118 ... is reported from the Senate Education Committee with individual recommendations and attached 0 fiscal note," Chair Tobin announced.
The motion carried by unanimous consent; committee members were reminded to stay after the meeting to sign the committee report. The committee did not take additional testimony or direct further action at the April 14 meeting.
