Business Services chair John told the board that the trade-home selection committee chose a house application from Nicholas and Madeline Palmquist (Nicholas identified as a Lincoln graduate and former student in the building trades class) and that the selection favored a home under the district's 2,000-square-foot threshold rather than a larger alternative the committee considered. The board approved the application to have the Lincoln High School Building Trades class construct the home for the 2025–26 year.
On technology, the committee recommended entering a three-year agreement with Gaggle for the Gaggle Safety Management Suite and Google Drive archiving at a total cost of $68,675 to be paid from the 2025–26 technology budget. The presenter said the software provides monitoring of public student accounts and reporting to administration.
The board also approved purchasing up to 75 BenQ IFPs with mounting kits from BG Innovations at a total cost not to exceed $300,000 from the technology referendum budget; the presenter explained these panels will replace aging smart boards that are no longer supported. The committee noted the district has previously purchased BenQ units in phases to manage storage and warranty timing.
The motion to approve BS1 through BS3 was moved and seconded and passed on a roll-call vote. The board also noted upcoming public events tied to the trade-home program, including a public open house on May 28 at 5321 Washington Street and public tours on June 2.
