Riverton Planning Commission on April 10 voted unanimously to continue a commercial master plan and conditional-use permit matter for the Western Springs area after staff discovered a state webpage noticing glitch.
Staff explained the property at 4623 West 126 South is part of a long-standing Western Springs specific plan, which anticipates mixed residential and commercial uses. Because the required posting did not appear on the state site, staff recommended continuing the commercial site-plan review to avoid risking a 30-day legal challenge to any decision.
Commissioners and staff discussed the project history, the Western Springs-specific plan and circulation features the developer proposes, including phased pads and two right-in/right-out access points and a possible island to prevent left turns. Commissioner Clough moved to continue the application (identified in staff materials as PLZ24-4821); the motion was seconded by Commissioner Beck and passed unanimously.
Staff said the continuance will allow the applicant to appear once for the consolidated hearing on April 24. The commission did not make any substantive rulings on design, circulation or use during the April 10 meeting.
