Planning commission continues home-occupation permit for nursery sales to May 22

Planning staff said a glitch in the city/state noticing process and the applicant's medical schedule prompted the continuance. The applicant, Terry Hunter, will appear at the commission's May 22 meeting, staff said.
The application, filed as PLZ25-2009 and identified in staff materials as “Charlene and Francis,” drew support in advance: staff said neighbors who received flyers had submitted multiple supportive comments. Commissioners did not discuss the merits of the home business before voting to continue the matter to ensure proper notice and the applicant's availability.
The motion to continue was seconded by Commissioner Clough and passed unanimously; commissioners did not record individual votes in the meeting transcript.
For the record, staff said the applicant will present details of the seasonal nursery sales at the May 22 meeting and staff will provide any additional notices required for that hearing.
