Baldwin Park staff announces retirement; successor recruitment under way

A Baldwin Park staff member told the Stakeholders Oversight Committee on April 8 that he plans to retire in July and that the City Council has directed staff to begin recruiting a successor.
Enrique Salivar (identified in the meeting as “Mr. Salivar”) told the committee he expects to retire in July and that Council has already directed the start of recruitment for his successor. He said June will likely be his last SOC meeting. Committee members offered remarks of appreciation and asked the city to plan for an orderly transition.
Staff did not propose any board action at the April 8 meeting; the retirement announcement was given as a staff communication. City staff indicated recruitment and selection were already underway.
