North Bend Fire pins Michael Lucero as lieutenant, honors 20 years of service

Mayor Eagle Key and fire department leaders gathered for the pinning and plaque presentation. Lucero took the oath of office and spoke briefly, thanking his family and colleagues. In sworn remarks included in the meeting record, Lucero said, “I hereby commit myself to conduct myself in a manner that will always uphold the public space and trust in me and in the department.”
Fire department speakers praised Lucero’s combination of operational skill and compassion on medical calls. The department noted his leadership, reliability and two decades of service. Lucero thanked past lieutenants, longtime colleagues and his wife and children for their support.
No formal council action or vote was required for the recognition; the ceremony was part of the council’s ceremonial items at the start of the meeting.
