North Bend holds public hearing on 2.5% building permit fee increase; no public testimony

City staff explained the increase and said the fee schedule had already been approved by the council but must be published in the building code agency's publication at least 45 days before the hearing. Staff characterized the hearing as the formal opportunity for protests; written testimony has been entered into the record and provided to council and staff.
The mayor opened the public testimony portion and called for those wishing to speak in favor; there were none. He then asked for anyone opposing; again there were no in-person speakers. The council closed public testimony and, with the city attorney indicating nothing further to add, the council concluded there was no further action required at that time.
City Attorney Mark Wolf was present online for the hearing. Staff noted that any testimony or evidence that would prompt council to change the approved fee schedule would be considered at a later time with a resolution modification if appropriate.
