The West Warwick Civic Center's FY 2026 enterprise budget received a brief public hearing on April 8, during which Civic Center manager Lori told the council the enterprise fund is operating close to break-even and that expected advertising and scoreboard sponsorship revenue has been slow to materialize.
Lori said there are currently no advertisers signed for the facility's scoreboard and that outreach has been slow. She noted the vendor who supplied the electronic scoreboards has been unresponsive on sponsorship fulfillment and that the center has explored other sponsorship options including banners and digital signage. The council discussed the potential revenue line and agreed the Civic Center budget would proceed with standard enterprise procedures; the council typically does not require a second public hearing on enterprise budgets.
The council did not make changes to the Civic Center figures at the April 8 session and moved to adjourn after the brief hearing. Staff and the manager were asked to continue outreach to identify sponsors and to report back if sponsorship revenue projections change before the final budget vote.
