The board approved the minutes of the March 11, 2025 meeting after a motion and roll-call vote. The bill list for April 8, 2025, in the amount of $5,732,225.33, was approved by roll-call vote. The board also adopted resolutions authorizing the nonrenewal of several probationary teachers (names provided at the meeting) and approved routine personnel appointments and terminations in the personnel report dated April 2025.
The consent agenda passed on a roll-call vote and, as presented, included: Policy update PRESS 117; the Renaissance Star renewal; purchases of physics and chemistry textbooks and three-year digital licenses; a contract renewal for an instructional program (listed as PLA/Newsela/Renaissance/Nearpod items in the packet); a renewal for the credit-recovery/online-learning platform (listed as Imagine/Edgenuity); a band-equipment purchase; and an intergovernmental agreement with the Village of Melrose Park concerning a TIF reimbursement of $250,000. The board’s vote on the consent agenda was recorded as “motion carried.”
Roll-call tallies were read on the record for each motion; in multiple roll calls one member (identified in the roll calls as Mr. Alexander) was recorded absent. Where roll calls listed members by name, those members' recorded responses were read aloud by the official conducting the roll.
The meeting also included a public-records (FOIA) update noting a request received 03/27/2025 for the complete personnel file of a named employee; the district’s response was reported as “in process.”
The board adjourned in open session at 8:31 p.m.
