City engineering staff summarized the 2025 street program bidding results at the April 8 work session and said staff recommend awarding the three bid sections and inspection contract. Section A (milling and paving of 22 streets, about 5–6 miles) had two bidders; staff recommended John R. Jurgensen as the lowest and best bidder at $1,010,528 (not-to-exceed $1,125,000). Section B (reclamite on smaller streets) had a single bidder, Pavement Technology, at $25,851.80 (not-to-exceed $29,000). Section C (asphalt paving of two municipal parking lots) returned John R. Jurgensen as low bidder at $159,035.60 (not-to-exceed $183,000).
Staff also recommended awarding construction inspection services to Bowser Moynihan, not to exceed $25,000. The program will be funded from the city's street capital fund (tax levy) and gas tax revenue. Council members voiced appreciation for ongoing street maintenance work; no council member objected to moving the awards forward for formal action at the regular meeting.
