At 11:00 a.m., the Lake County Board of County Commissioners convened a special meeting and voted to go into an executive session to discuss the county manager hiring.
An unidentified commissioner moved to go into executive session and another unidentified commissioner seconded; the chair recorded three ayes for the motion. During the session the board was accompanied by Commissioner Matt Bullock, Commissioner Andrew Lee, Commissioner Alsopar, Human Resources Director Zoe Bergstrom and County Attorney Chris Floyd. An unidentified commissioner summarized who would be present, saying, “Present during this executive session will be commissioner Matt Bullock, myself, commissioner Andrew Lee, commissioner Alsopar, human resources director Zoe Bergstrom, and county attorney Chris Floyd. The do I have to say what we're doing discussing, county manager hiring during executive session? To discuss personal matters.”
After reconvening, a motion to exit the executive session was made and seconded; the chair recorded three ayes. The board stated on the record that no decisions were made during the executive session.
The special meeting then concluded. The transcript does not record any public deliberations, votes on a hiring recommendation, or other formal actions related to the county manager position; the only recorded formal actions were motions to enter and to exit the executive session, both approved by voice vote.
