The Kuna Planning and Zoning Commission on April 8 approved design review (case 25-02-DR) for a recreational-trailer sales facility, Caveman Trailers, on an approximately 4-acre site near North Meridian Road and East Avalon Street.
Marina Lundy, development-services staff, told the commission the site plan was previously approved in 2023 but that prior approval had expired; on review staff found the current submittal consistent with Kuna City code, the comprehensive plan and Idaho code and recommended approval with the conditions listed in the report. Applicant representative Richard Wilmot said the only substantive change from the prior approval was the addition of a trash- and recycling-enclosure at J and M Sanitation's request; the updated site exhibit shows the enclosure and access that J and M reviewed.
Commissioners asked about Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility for the building and parking; Doug Hansen of planning staff said ADA-related building and site changes would be completed before any certificate of occupancy is issued. The commission approved the design review with the staff-recommended conditions.
Transcript evidence for this article includes the staff presentation, applicant remarks and the commission's motion to approve with conditions.
