Board reviews science textbook committee recommendation; staff to add missing physical science item

Cannon County staff presented a recommendation from the district textbook adoption committee to the board during the April 10 workshop, describing the process the committee used and the current vendor recommendations.

Committee recommendations were: one vendor for K–5 and another vendor for grades 6–12; staff asked board members to review the samples at the district office.
During discussion a board member asked whether a physical-science textbook was included, and staff acknowledged that the physical science title needed to be added to the draft recommendation. The presenter said she would revise the draft to include the physical science selection and provide the corrected materials to the board.
