A resident asked the council to address ongoing construction and cleanup issues in the Bay Ridge neighborhood.
Marika Fuller, who said she lives on Marlin Court, told the council that Bay Ridge Drive remains a “vertical mess,” with contractors creating a mud hole in the median, cones scattered along exit lanes, and slow progress on repairs. Fuller said wind routinely scatters the cones and that the alternate Seacrest entrance is unsafe for most drivers, making Bay Ridge Drive the principal route for residents.
Fuller also praised the newly completed pump station at the Burridge retention pond and the new fence around the pump station but said the remainder of the fence line looks neglected and “like something you would see in front of an abandoned and haunted house,” with trash and a rusted chain-link fence. She asked the city to clean and improve the fence line, plant greenery, and consider repainting or replacing the fence. Fuller offered to help assess and identify an alternate contractor and said she had emailed a city staff member, Ron, about the issues.
Council staff acknowledged the comment and asked for an update to be provided to Fuller and shared with council. No formal action was taken during the April 8 meeting.
