Measure BP fund balance reported at roughly $10.48 million; staff will post monthly financials online

City finance staff told the Baldwin Park Stakeholders Oversight Committee on April 8 that Measure BP collections and interest have yielded a fund balance available for projects and described the committee’s current pipeline.

Rose (finance) reported that Measure BP sales‑tax receipts in March were $665,000 and that, through March, the measure had yielded about $14,463,000 in total receipts including interest. She said roughly $10,475,000 remained available for future projects after current approvals and encumbrances. “In March, we received $665,000 for the Measure BP sales tax, and as of March we have total received $14,463,000, including the interest earning,” Rose said.

Committee members asked for more online transparency and finer timestamps on project status. One member asked whether a recently delivered senior bingo system has been fully paid; staff said final billings were still being processed and the item would move to the completed column once payments cleared.

Staff response and next steps Finance staff agreed to revise the presentation to add more detail where possible, including purchase and delivery dates for items that have been completed or ordered. Staff also said they will place financial spreadsheets and archived monthly updates on the Measure BP webpage so committee members and the public can review historical funding decisions and completed projects.

Why it matters: The Measure BP balance is the source for the CSO request and other community projects. Committee members asked that future reports include a clearer distinction between funds already spent, funds encumbered and funds available, and that completed projects be archived so past entries remain accessible.
