The Planning and Land Use Commission on Thursday voted to table action on the town’s proposed 2025 general plan survey to allow commissioners time to refine wording and incorporate additional questions.
Commissioners and staff said a draft survey prepared after a September workshop largely covers topics discussed at that session, but several items remain under consideration. The water committee indicated it may propose one or two water questions following its May 12 meeting; commissioners agreed to await that input. Members also discussed altering agricultural questions’ wording, adding a question about which town services residents would like (and whether they would pay more in taxes for them), and including questions about aging‑in‑place and health‑care needs for an older population.
Commissioners were asked to submit suggested language and boilerplate questions prior to the next meeting; staff (Kaelin and others) will circulate updates gathered from committees. A motion to table the item was made and seconded; the commission voted to table item 6.
