Sandpoint commission readies historic‑preservation brochure, will submit Certified Local Government grant application

Ellie Sosnes said the walking‑tour brochure is nearly complete; commissioners plan to take fresh photos in spring and finalize edits. "We are so close," she said, adding that the work team meets weekly to produce the brochure and to coordinate photo updates.
Sosnes also said she would submit the CLG grant application and expected to hear back by the end of the month. The commission noted news that other state cultural grants have been delayed or rescinded statewide as context but emphasized this CLG application was separate from those statewide issues.
Commissioners also discussed nominating local projects for Preservation Idaho’s Orchids & Onions awards and mentioned the upcoming Artworks Gallery 30th‑anniversary events in May. No formal nominations or approvals were made; commissioners volunteered to prepare applications and to coordinate with building owners and architects where needed.
